Well, the reality of symbolism over substance gets worse than the proposed solutions are worse than the problem they were to circumvent. Take for example, in response to the disaster in the gulf they opened the first hydrogen re-fueling station in LA. Does anyone know the volatility of pressured hydrogen and the logistics involved in shipping it safely. Seriously, this is the solution. Wait untill they have a leak an a pressured hydrogen station goes off on an urban corner and takes out a school. This is not the solution. If you find a way to get to work on elmers glue more power to you but untill then stop shoving unproven technologies down my throat. Save the corn for the hungry. Potatoes save for vodka. When you find a cheap, small, reliable lithium battery.......give me a call. This unproven, unreliable and potentially unsafe technology is being shoved down our throats because the government thinks we are tired of BIG oil. We are not! Most of the public can see through the viral rhetoric you spit forth about the evils of fossil fuels. Got news for you, it made this country great. Like everything in life, its a trade off. The trick is to maximize the positive ands minimize the negative. You didnt have a moratorium on building new cars when Toyota engineers couldnt build a safe car. This accident is tragic, but it was due to one guy that made a poor decision to use seawater rather than mud. You dont stop a whole industry. President Obama says that this will be detrimental to our way of life but his moratorium is as well. Its easy to hate big oil but they are not the cause of this. If you have ever filled your tank or turned on a light switch, you are! The world is a little less pristine than if we were not here. However, fossil fuels made us a great nation. We had a partial meltdpown at three mile island and have not built a reactor since. The technology is better and the fail safes are improved but one accident has left us with anarchaic system that caused it. Tragedys' of history. Learn from it! Come up with some predictive and preventive ideas. Figure out what works and move on.

  2. Why is Tone Hayward the scapegoat for everything hated. He didnt nothing more nothing less than our president. He spent fathers day with his son. Obama wenty golfing. If you are gonna hate, hate across the board. Little reality check he is the CEO of BP and the spokesperson. He is not combing the beach with a trash bag or maning the hat. I assure you his actions that one day did not cause one extra drop of oil or one less drop to be cleaned up. Hey media, we the public only what four things the ban lifted, commissioning of all BOP's, leak stopped and gulf cleaned. Period! All the political posturing and hidden agendas, save it for the campaign trail reporting.
